Military Says State Of Emergency Could Last 2 Years

The military regime in Burma is considering extending a state of emergency for another year, reports Al Jazeera (Qatar).
Reporters from Al Jazeera and CNN were admitted for a week-long monitored tour of Yangon and Naypyidaw, which concluded on April 6.
During the tour, Brig Gen. Zaw Min Tun said that the year-long state-of-emergency implemented after the Feb. 1 coup could be extended an additional year.
After a maximum of two years, Burma will hold elections, the general said.
