Military Satellite Reaches Orbit

Russia has launched a Soyuz-U carrier rocket with a military satellite on board, RIA Novosti reports.
The rocket, carrying a Cosmos-series satellite, lifted off from the Plesetsk space center in north Russia on Monday evening, a Space Forces spokesman said.
The Cosmos 2472 satellite will join a Russian network of about 60-70 military reconnaissance satellites, said officials.
