The German Cabinet has authorized military to join a new NATO combat mission to combat Islamic State arms-smuggling in the Mediterranean Sea, reports Deutsche Welle.
The decision on Wednesday could allow up to 650 personnel to take part in Operation Sea Guardian, which is aimed at combating human- and arms-trafficking.
The plan will be sent to the Parliament soon, reported Der Spiegel, the German magazine.
