President Hamid Karzai has agreed to send a group of Afghan military officers to Pakistan for training, the Washington Post reports.
Pakistan is attempting to enlarge its role in Afghanistan, sensing that the U.S. war effort is faltering.
Karzai needs Pakistan as an ally to end the insurgency, whether through military action or negotiations, Afghan officials said.
