The official Chinese military newspaper offers some details on Beijing's nuclear strategy, Reuters reports.
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Xu Guangyu said Thursday in the Liberation Army Daily that China must employ a limited second strike force to deter enemies from launching atomic attacks.
In his commentary, the general said that Beijing wants a minimal nuclear deterrent and prefers to avoid an arms race.
