Military Helicopters To Join Pakistan Relief Efforts

The Japanese government has decided to deploy Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF) helicopters to Pakistan to help with disaster-relief operations, reports the Kyodo News Agency.
The Japanese helicopter contingent is expected to have six UH-1 utility and CH-47 cargo helicopters as well as more than 300 personnel.
The decision followed a U.S. request for Japanese assistance in covering shortages of helicopters for transportation of flood-affected people and relief supplies.
