Military To Get More Than In Official Budget

The Pakistani government has allocated an additional US$1.7 billion to the current military budget, reports the Express Tribune (Pakistan).
The defense budget totals about US$7.5 billion for 2011-2012, including the base US$5.7 billion budget, officials said.
A Finance Ministry official revealed the latest figures late last week.
Nearly half of the US$1.7 billion increase falls under the Armed Forces Development Program, said officials.
