Military Falls Short On Bilingual Training

The Canadian military is not meeting its obligation to provide training to personnel in both English and French, says a government audit cited by the Canwest News Service.

According to the analysis by Graham Fraser, the federal languages commissioner, 83 percent of training facilities do not have bilingual instructors.

Such training often depends on the ability of Francophone instructors to teach in both languages, the report said.
