July 22 2010

Ukraine

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry says it will reduce its military by up to 20 percent, bringing it to about 150,000-160,000 personnel in five years, RIA Novosti reports.

There are currently about 200,000 personnel in Ukraine's armed forces.

The plan also calls for military spending to grow by 15 to 20 percent per year through 2015.
