Military Expected To Withdraw From NATO Air Surveillance Program

In an effort to save money, the Canadian military is expected to pull out of NATO's Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), Agence France-Presse reports.
AWACS aircraft are widely used in Afghanistan and Libya to monitor airspace and guide warplanes to their targets.
The planes are staffed by a multinational crew from alliance nations, including Canada.
