Thousands of Sri Lankan military personnel have been deployed to aid victims of flooding that have rendered about 200,000 homeless, the BBC reports.
On Wednesday, more than 30,000 personnel from the army, navy, police and air force were sent to deliver emergency food and medical supplies.
The air force has also been assisting in evacuation operations, said officials.
