The head of Indonesia's new national counterterrorism agency says the Indonesian military will have an expanded role in combating terrorism, supporting police investigations and responding to attacks, reports the Sydney Morning Herald (Australia).
Nevertheless, the military's activities are expected to be curbed by regulations, including making them accountable to civilian law and restricting their use of firearms, said Ansyaad Mbai.
