Militants Seize Workers On Oil Rig

Nigerian gunmen have raided an offshore oil rig belonging to London-based Afren exploration company, kidnapping five workers, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.

Two other workers on the High Island VII were injured in Sunday's attack, company officials said.

The rig had recently arrived at the Okoro field and was about to commence drilling, said officials.

Drilling operations have been suspended, company officials told BBC News.
