Islamic militants have taken over areas of a city in southern Yemen.
Suspected Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) fighters attacked government buildings and an air force base in Houta at dawn on Wednesday, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
The militants targeted police stations, intelligence headquarters and banks in the capital of Lahj province, security officials said.
