Local officials in Yemen say a U.S. drone strike has hit a car in the eastern part of the country, killing three suspected Al-Qaida militants, reports Reuters.
The airstrike reportedly occurred Monday in the Marib province.
This was the first such strike reported since Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Hadi and his government resigned on Thursday. Hadi backed U.S. counterterrorism efforts in the region.
