Suspected Al-Qaida militants have attacked a town in central Mali, reports the Voice of America News.
Before dawn on Monday, gunmen attacked Nampala, about 330 mi (530 km) northeast of Bamako, the Malian capital, said local officials.
At least three Malian soldiers and two gunmen were killed in the fighting, said a city official.
