Militants in Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan province attacked a paramilitary convoy on Friday, killing one soldier, Reuters reports.
Five Frontier Corps personnel were also wounded in the incident near the town of Khuzdar, police said.
Three of the attackers were said to have been killed by return fire.
Ethnic Baluch militants have waged a low-level separatist insurgency in the province for decades.
