Militants Ambush Police, Kill 5 Officers

Police in northeast Kenya say suspected Al-Shabaab militants have killed five officers close to Kenya's border with Somalia, reports the Star (Kenya).

Almost 100 insurgents attacked a police post Tuesday in Alijize in Garissa county, said police sources.

Two officers survived the ambush, though one was wounded. The insurgents reportedly stole weapons and torched a police vehicle, said an official.
