Combined Afghan and international forces carried out a number of operations Friday against the Taliban in Afghanistan's Herat, Wardak and Kandahar provinces, reports U.S. Forces-Afghanistan.
A joint force raided a compound in Herat's Guzara district overnight Friday in search of a local insurgent leader believed responsible for conducting roadside bomb attacks and kidnappings in the area, said military officials.
