MiG-29 From Carrier Winds Up In The Med

A Russian navy fighter has crashed into the Mediterranean Sea during operations from the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, reports Moscow's Tass news agency.

The MiG-29K experienced "an equipment fault" while on approach for a deck landing on the carrier, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a release.

The pilot ejected safely and was returned to the carrier after being picked up by search-and-rescue personnel, the ministry said.
