Merkel Names Guttenberg As New Defense Minister

Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg has been named as Germany's next defense minister, reports the Deutsche Presse-Agentur.
Guttenberg, age 37, has spent nine months as economics minister prior to the national elections held late last month.
Eastern and Central European nations have expressed support for Guttenberg's priorities, reported Deutsche Welle
Chancellor Angela Merkel is finalizing a new political coalition with the Free Democratic Party.
