Russian military officials plan to create a joint air and space force by the end of the year, reports Russia's Sputnik news agency.
The Air-Space Forces will be created by Dec. 1, combining the existing air force and space forces, Valery Gerasimov, head of General Staff headquarters, said on Tuesday.
Previous reports anticipated the move would take place in 2016.
