Melbourne Frigate, Last Of Her Class, Decommissioned After 27 Years

The Royal Australian Navy has retired its final Adelaide-class frigate, reports the Navy Daily.
The Melbourne was decommissioned in a ceremony on Oct. 26, at Fleet Base East in Sydney after 27 years of service.
The Newcastle, the second-to-last Adelaide-class frigate to leave service, was decommissioned in June, noted 9 News (Sydney).
The Melbourne sailed more than 900,000 nm during her career, which included eight deployments to the Middle East.
