The Norwegian Defense Ministry has decided to equip one of its mechanized infantry units for Arctic operations, reports the Foreigner (Norway).
The existing 2nd Battalion at Camp Skjold in Troms will be equipped with snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles and other light vehicles to help secure Norway's northern borders, officials said.
The unit will then be renamed the "Arctic Battalion."
The infantry unit currently is equipped for homeland defense and international operations...
