MDA Successfully Tests Alaska THAAD Air Defense System Over Pacific Ocean

The U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) over the weekend successfully intercepted a ballistic missile in a test of an advanced air missile defense system, reported CBS News.
A target missile was launched Sunday by an Air Force C-17 over the Pacific Ocean. It was detected, tracked and intercepted by a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery at Pacific Spaceport Complex Alaska in Kodiak, said the MDA, as cited by the Stars and Stripes.
