Gen. David Petraeus has decided to retain Gen. Stanley McCrystal's top intelligence officer in Afghanistan, Wired.com reports.
McCrystal was forced out as commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan. He offered his resignation following a Rolling Stone magazine article in which he and others in his command made disparaging remarks about officials in Washington.
Maj. Gen. Michael Flynn, head of intelligence operations for the NATO war effort, was not involved in the article.
