The U.S. Air Force has begun operating its new MC-12 Liberty intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft in Afghanistan, reports the Air Force News Service.
The turboprop aircraft, based out of Kandahar Airfield, performed its first combat mission on April 1.
The MC-12, based on the King Air 350, provides real-time tactical ISR, with analysts and aircrews deployed together in an effort to attain seamless operations and interoperability with ground forces. ...
