Mauritanian Raid On Terrorist Group Backed By French Forces

The French government has acknowledged that its troops took part in a raid against Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) militants alongside Mauritanian troops, the BBC reports.
On Friday, the French Defense Ministry said that it had provided "technical and logistical" support for the raid, which was launched to foil a planned attack against Mauritanian targets.
