Two Egyptian policemen have been killed while guarding a Coptic Christian church in a town south of Cairo, reports the Daily News Egypt.
The attack occurred on Tuesday in Minya, about 250 km (155 mi) south of the capital.
Masked men shot the policemen, who died instantly, said witnesses cited by Reuters.
Coptic Christians celebrate Christmas this Wednesday, which typically results in security at churches. Coptic Christians represent about 10 percent of the population.
