Panama's Ministry of Public Security has awarded a contract to Selex Sistemi Integrati for a maritime coastal surveillance system, the Italian defense firm reports. The amount of the contract was not disclosed.
The monitoring system will be delivered within 33 months from the contract subscription, company officials said.
Selex, a Finmeccanica company, will provide a national control center and eight regional centers that will receive data from 18 Lyra 50 radars.
