The Marine Corps rolled out its first Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) on Tuesday at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., reports the Marine Corps Times.
The EFV can attain speeds of up to 29 mph in high water and 40 mph on land and is armed with a 30-mm Mk 46 cannon, according to the Marines.
The vehicle is said to offer increased survivability against rocket-propelled grenades and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and is expected to replace the Marine Corps' aging fleet...
