The Marine Corps plans to experiment with a new unit optimized for littoral and island operations in the Pacific before finalizing its configuration, reports the Marine Corps Times.
The 3rd Marine Regiment, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, is expected to become the experimental 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, service officials said on Tuesday.
