Marines Seek Nonlethal Grenade Launcher

The Marine Corps has handed out awards to develop a nonlethal grenade launcher, the Marine Corps Times reports.
The Mission Payload Module-Non-lethal Weapon System can fire a flash-bang anywhere from 10 meters up to an estimated 500 meters away, officials said.
In mid-April, the Corps awarded the Australia-based Metal Storm company a contract for about $1.5 million and the Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics a contract for about $3 million.
