Marines Push Back Purchase Of Assault Vehicle

Following a budget cut, the Marine Corps has decided to delay the purchase of its next amphibious troop transport for another year, the Marine Corps Times reports.
Under the Pentagon's proposed 2011 budget, the Corps would spend $243 million to research and develop the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV), down from the $293 million approved for FY2010. Costs should to drop as the vehicle enters the testing phase, Marine officials said.
