The Marine Corps Systems Command has placed an order with Navistar Defense, Warrenville, Ill., for hundreds of light mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The $357 million contract covers 471 MaxxPro Dash vehicles under a previous award.
The Dash vehicles can sustain operations in limited mobility areas such as the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan and the open deserts of Iraq, according to a Pentagon release.
