Marines Fix Design Flaw In Ospreys After Fatal Accident

The U.S. Marine Corps has modernized its fleet of MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft following a fatal accident last year, reports the Marine Corps Times.

A software design flaw that limited engine power in flight was blamed for a V-22 plummeting off the amphibious ship Makin Island on Oct. 1, 2014.

Investigators found that the Osprey had just taken off, but was mistakenly in maintenance mode. This left it without much power and caused it to crash into the Persian Gulf.
