Marines Activate Osprey Squadron At Miramar

The Marine Corps has activated an MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor squadron at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., reports the Marine Corps News.
Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 561 (VMM-561) is the first West Coast squadron.
"We started from scratch, and 18 months later we stand up ready to deploy," said Lt. Col. Warren Curry, the squadron commander during ceremonies on Dec. 2. "Today starts the day to become a cohesive and disciplined unit ready to serve our corps."
