Japan and the United States are considering postponing the transfer of thousands of U.S. Marines from Okinawa to Guam by three to five years, reports the Kyodo News Agency, citing unnamed sources.
U.S. officials say that Guam does not have the infrastructure to handle the influx of 8,000 Marines and their families, though Washington plans to complete a construction plan in July.
