The World Health Organization has declared an outbreak of the Marburg virus, a highly infectious hemorrhagic fever in the same family as Ebola, in Ghana, reports Agence France-Presse.
Blood samples taken from two people in the southern Ashanti region suggested the disease, the Ghana Health Service said. The samples were sent to Senegal for further analysis, which confirmed the diagnosis.
