Maoist Leader, 3 Others, Surrender In Andhra Pradesh

A leading Maoist has turned himself in to state police in Andhra Pradesh in southeastern India, reports the Calcutta Telegraph.

Maddela Adellu, a Maoist state committee member, has been accused of nine offenses, including two murders. The government set a reward of US$22,000 for his capture.

His wife Kurma Rambai, a divisional committee member in Maharashtra also surrendered, along with two militia leaders, said state police.
