The Turkish Parliament has extended for a year the mandate covering cross-border military operations against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, reports Zaman (Istanbul).
The current mandate for such operations is scheduled to expire on Oct. 17.
The Turkish military is preparing "sweeping operations" to exhaust PKK members.
The operation is expected to be coordinated with Iran, Iraq and Syria, officials said.
