The Chinese and Malaysian navies have begun their first joint naval exercise in the Strait of Malacca, reports the South China Morning Post.
More than 1,000 Chinese personnel are taking part in the Sept. 17-22 drill, including a guided-missile destroyer, guided-missile frigate, helicopters and transport aircraft and the Peace Ark hospital ship.
