Major Arctic Push Includes Plans For Near Gear

Canada plans to buy a wide range of military gear that can be operated in the Arctic, reports Defense News.
In the works are a new Arctic training base and construction of a fleet of Arctic and offshore patrol ships for Can$3 billion (US$3 billion), plus a Can$700 million Polar-class icebreaker, said top army officials.
The army is seeking new medium all-terrain vehicles to be used in the north.
