Maintenance Work Set To Start On Iwo Jima Amphib

The U.S. Navy has given BAE Systems US$26.8 million contract for the phased maintenance of the Iwo Jima amphibious assault ship, according to a company release.

The work on the Wasp-class vessel will include structural and tank repairs and preservation, repairs to ventilation and auxiliary systems, habitability upgrades, ship alterations, and other repairs, said the release on Monday.
