Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has extended the closing of border crossings with Colombia and deployed another 3,000 troops to the area, reports Reuters.
Maduro announced the decision on television on Monday night, closing the Paraguachon crossing in Zulia state, noted the Wall Street Journal. The main crossings in Tachira state were shut last month.
The additional troops ordered to the 1,379-mile border will join 2,000 already deployed.
