France—Macron Agrees To Send More Troops To Sahel, Set Up New Joint Command Structure

France has agreed to enhance its counterterror mission in Africa's Sahel region in cooperation with local countries, reports the Washington Post.  On Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron said another 220 French troops would deploy to Operation Barkhane, which is headquartered in Mali.
