The Australian Dept. of Defense has signed risk-reduction contracts with two companies as part of its program to replace aging armored personnel carriers. The department previously shortlisted Hanwha and Rheinmetall for the program to replace the army’s M113 armored vehicles. Hanwha is submitting the AS-21 Redback, a variant of its K21 infantry fighting vehicle adapted to Australian requirements. Rheinmetall is offering its Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle. The Risk...
