The U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) has awarded Oshkosh Defense a contract to upgrade hundreds of mine-resistant ambush-protected all-terrain vehicles (M-ATVs), reports the Wisconsin-based defense firm.
The $67 million contract covers the incorporation of configuration changes to more than 420 M-ATVs.
The SOCOM-specific changes will be made on Oshkosh manufacturing lines in August 2010, and the new vehicles are scheduled to be delivered between September and November...
