Swiss lawmakers in the National Council have shot down a proposal to purchase two military transport aircraft, reports defense-aerospace.com.
The Council of States, the upper house, previously approved the acquisition, according to a release issued Tuesday from the Swiss Dept. of Defense.
The cargo aircraft would have been utilized primarily for international peacekeeping and disaster-response missions.
