Low-Flying Israeli Aircraft Cause Sonic Boom Over Sidon; Beirut Complains Over Airspace Violations

An Israeli warplane flying low over southern Lebanon caused damage on the ground when breaking the sound barrier, reports Lebanon's National News Agency, citing locals and security personnel.

Some accounts -- including in Israel -- said there were multiple planes and more than one sonic boom.

The flight led to a sonic boom over the city of Sidon, said security sources cited by Reuters.

Windows were broker and buildings shook -- causing a panic, said residents.
